Senteo LogoSMART has released Senteo™ assessment software service pack 1.0 (Windows® and Mac OS X operating systems). This will add new features and adjust other features. Some of the release highlights include the ability to run Senteo assessment software on Intel®-based Macintosh computers and a simplified activation process.
Senteo LogoSMART has released Senteo™ assessment software service pack 1.0 (Windows® and Mac OS X operating systems). This will add new features and adjust other features. Some of the release highlights include the ability to run Senteo assessment software on Intel®-based Macintosh computers and a simplified activation process.


New features
bullet The Senteo interactive response system now includes Mac OS X operating system universal drivers that fully support both Intel- and Power PC-based Mac computers
bullet Ability to export the Senteo assessment software results in Notebook software to CSV (comma separated value) format for Mac and Windows operating system users. This will enable Mac users to export results to a .csv file and import the scores into their existing grade book software or open in Microsoft® Excel® software.
bullet Notebook software’s Import Questions from Microsoft Word feature has been enhanced to import images and Microsoft Equation Editor objects from Word with questions attached
bullet The following are new classroom security features:

By default, students not included in the current class list will not be allowed to sign in
° Teachers can lock sign in so that students cannot sign each other in or out of the class on their clickers
° Teachers can disconnect disruptive students from a class and prevent them from signing in for a customizable period of time

bullet Problems that occurred when importing class lists from Excel and CSV software files such as missing student names or duplicate student ID numbers have been adjusted
bullet The following are licensing and activation changes:

Licensing for Notebook software and Senteo assessment software matches the licensing terms used for SMART Board software and Notebook software

° Find License Code feature lets customers activate their software using only their Senteo interactive response system receivers and an Internet connection
° System administrators can activate Senteo assessment software on a ghosted image of a computer without having to activate each individual machine restored from the image

bullet When viewing results in Notebook software, press the Pin icon and hold a pie chart slice or bar chart to reveal the list of students who gave a specific response. Press the Pin icon to see all the results
bullet System administrators can use Windows Installer operating system remote administration to conveniently install the software on multiple computers in their networks


Bug fixes (short list)
bullet Users running Windows Vista™ operating system will no longer be required to reactivate Senteo assessment software after each restart
bullet Internet Explorer® Internet browser proxy settings no longer interfere with communication between Senteo assessment software and Notebook software
bullet Notebook software works faster when running sets of multiple questions with many students in the class

 

Refinements and improvements (short list)
bullet Refinements to the design of the Senteo assessment software results pie and bar charts in Notebook software have improved readability when many students are absent, when they skip a question or when they ask multiple selection questions
bullet The Received X of Y message, which appears in Notebook software while collecting responses to questions, better reflects the number of students who have answered or skipped the question
bullet The Join class feature on hardware clickers is more reliable because of enhancements to the receiver RF channel selection algorithm
bullet When asking a single question, correct or incorrect feedback will be shown on clickers only after the teacher stops the question. Previously, this was shown as the student answered the question.
